The Curriculum

At Shafi curriculum plays a very important role as we believe that learning is not just about teaching, books and lessons but much more than that. At Shafi the emphasis is more on the overall development of the child, as we understand that schooling is the time in the life of every child, which influences their future.

The curriculum is concept oriented rather than exam oriented. At Shafi Public school the curriculum is designed keeping in view the overall development of a child. The classroom is the nerve center of the activities that are undertaken in shaping and grooming the leaders of tomorrow. The integrated curriculum not only concentrates on the academics but also on the qualitative development of every individual child.

The school follows the NCERT curriculum as applied by CBSE, Delhi. The activity-based learning is emphasized to develop in depth learning of different skills and to provide a strong base in subject. The School encourages independent reading habits in the students and encourages them to use library frequently so as to develop the broader thinking & vision.

The goal of curriculum is to provide stress-free education that enables children to blossom to their fullest potential; broaden the vision and deepen the roots. Teachers use daily class observations, students’ creative pursuits, informal assessments, group and individual goal settings as indicators of progress and development. To the extent possible, teachers and parents together share their observations with the students and seek collective goal setting as the strategy for future development of each student.

Each child is encouraged to participate in a number of individual and group co-curricular activities like elocution, calligraphy, mental retention, role play, poetry, debate, essay etc. to drag out the hidden creative talent in each child. The School offers excellent sports facilities like football, hockey, volleyball, basketball, baseball and many indoor games.
